Summer Programs

PSLLC is able to create a summer experience for your child to better prepare him/her for the next school year.

We offer innovative, effective programs that will help your child improve the ability to communicate, listen, read, write, remember and interact with others.

Our summer programs include:

  • Social Thinking Groups®, a cutting-edge curriculum that helps those ages 6 to 21 with social cognitive difficulties. Students learn how to work as part of a group, understand how others perceive them, problem solve, develop effective communication skills, and regulate their emotions. Groups are formed based on age, skill level, and compatibility.
  • Purposeful Play Program, an interactive social learning group that teaches preschoolers how to play with others, share an imagination, improve attention, and develop social skills.
  • NEW! Executive Function Therapy – Therapy for students from second grade through college to strengthen their organizational skills and self-management by learning to initiate and complete tasks, breakdown projects and assignments, learn time management skills, understand the “big picture,” and think flexibly.
  • NEW! Written Expression – A unique, cutting-edge approach infusing executive function-based instruction to help students improve their writing by learning to organize their thoughts, initiate writing assignments, expand their ideas to increase quality and quantity, improve their ability to evaluate their writing, and meet task requirements.
  • NEW! Zones of Regulation™ – This curriculum includes learning activities to help students in preschool through college who struggle with emotional regulation, including anger management, sensory processing disorder, anxiety, flexibility, impulsivity, and/or self-control.
  • READY, SET SOAR – A fun, structured, summer program that improves readiness skills for children ages 4 through 6. The focus will be on social communication and motor skills. A speech-language
pathologist and occupational therapist will lead groups in activities that will strengthen Social Interactions, Cooperative Play, Listening Skills, Fine Motor and Visual Motor Skills, Sensory Processing Skills, and Motor Planning Skills.
  • Fast ForWord® Language and Reading Programs, a research-based series of computer exercises to develop and strengthen memory and sequencing skills, attention, and auditory processing speed. These programs are designed to help students ages 5 through 21 years old. Offered on-site or at your home.
  • Speech and Language Therapy – We offer the most effective, research-based methods to help those with disorders such as articulation, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, auditory processing, receptive language, and Selective Mutism. Expressive language therapy can focus on language organization and
narrative language. Our therapists also use the Nancibell® Visualizing and Verbalizing for Language Comprehension and Thinking® and the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing® (LiPS®) Program to help students improve reading and oral language comprehension skills.
  • Math Tutoring – Our experienced learning specialists help students ages 6 through high school improve their math skills.
  • Wilson Reading System® – A nationally recognized, multi-sensory reading program that targets the needs of students who have been unsuccessful with other reading programs or those who still have gaps in their decoding or spelling abilities.
  • Reading Assistant™, a motivating software program that uses the latest in speech recognition technology to help students strengthen their reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension toward becoming proficient, life-long readers. This program is appropriate for students ages 7 and up, who struggle with reading fluency.

Our nationally certified speech-language pathologists and educators work directly with all students.
